I'm Chris Williams. I started out in the trades — working for a residential homebuilder in Colorado Springs and remodeling homes in Orlando in my early twenties. I framed walls, poured concrete, laid brick, replumbed houses, painted, repaired roofs, installed insulation, wired outlets, and put in HVAC systems. I wasn't just watching — I was on the ladder, in the crawlspace, doing the work alongside licensed professionals across nearly every trade.
Eventually I transitioned into software engineering and spent years building and leading engineering teams. But I never forgot what it was like to run jobs, coordinate with crews, and chase payments.
When I looked at the software available to home service businesses, I saw two options: expensive platforms that charge $50-150/month whether you have revenue or not, or cheap tools so poorly built they create more problems than they solve. Neither felt fair to a painting contractor or a handyman trying to grow a business.
